Selling,swapping and donating
1 (Q) How do I list an item?
(A) You must first be a registered member. Once you have registered simply login to your account and click on the "Sell" link.

The software will then ask you if you wish to trade in a store, auction or both. Although it costs nothing to list items for auction or sell it now, and for swapping and donating, please note there is a fee for setting up a store. You could of course use the 5 sign up credit to test this and other trading features if you like

Once youve selected your category(ies), and added your description, (with as much information as possible) you will come to stage 4, the trade settings page. Here you can select how you would like to offer your item, auction, sell or trade. You will see that you can opt to add in the buy it now price, this amount must be equal to or greater than the auction price. Futher down there is the option for swapping or donating. If you are only willing to swap and dontate certain items or with specific kinds of people, like say charities, please describe this in your listing.

(A) You can keep an eye on everything you are selling by visiting your members area and selecting the "selling" page.

(A) Mac users can use most site features right away, but will need to use a windows emulator to run the bulklister.

At present Mac Safari browser users may experience problems with adding item descriptions. This is on our list of thing to fix. We would therefore like to suggest that for the time being you use Internet Explorer for Mac, which works fine.

1 (Q) What's different about weallreuse ?
(A) Unlike junkfox, auction sites such as eBay charge you upfront whether the item sells or not, have no easy way for you to swap or donate items, and are not focused on repair and reuse.

Email lists such as Freecycle work well but there are now many people using them that that they have become hard to use. Anyone with a popular item can be overwhelmed by the responses, even once the item has been taken - people dont always read the 'taken' notices to see that it has gone. In addition, there's no way to show picturesor to ensure that items are going to the most appropriate or deserving new home.

junkfox has combined the best features of online auctions and donation email liststo create something quite new.

You can chose to auction, sell, swap or donate, locally or globally - all from a single listing.
1 (Q) There aren't that many users yet are there?
(A) True. This a project that has been 5 years in the making. Our old site had to stop in 2002, as it was so expensive to run. Our new open source software site was completed on Valentines Day 2006. We've only just finished testing it and are now inviting our freinds to join and start trading. Why don't you invite yours too?
